Ms. Barbour has been a licensed cosmetologist for more than 20 years, originally licensed in the state of California where she studied and practiced holistic medicine in an alternative health and beauty spa. Her diverse career as a Cosmetic Artist includes: salon ownership; licensed cosmetology and barber educator; platform artistry; herbalist; author; poet; editor and publisher of an online monthly newsletter called "The E'Lader Jornal - Natural Alternatives to Health, Beauty and Fitness".

The course teaches how to create and blend your own spa quality products to treat superficial skin disorders; and use the information learned in Part II to give award winning facials that get visible results. This hands-on class is inspirational and is designed to stimulate your intellect and build your confidence as a professional service provider.
Course Pre-requirements: Part I & Part IIClass Pre-requirements: Each student is responsible for bringing to class one fruit or vegetable of choice, all other supplies needed will be provided; the manual from Part II; cooperation and participation.
THE INITIAL CONSULTATION
Skin care professionals should start every service with a detailed consultation. This session will cover the proper way to begin a lasting client relationship.
Class Activity: Each student will be given the opportunity to participate in role play. The objective of this exercise is to master the art of providing excellent customer service skills, and great interpersonal skills.
SKIN ANALYSIS
It is important to know how to determine the correct skin type and how to design the remedies needed to deliver the best results.
Class Activity: Each student will be given the opportunity to participate in role play. The objective of this exercise is to master the art of skin analysis, with the aid of the client, and determining the proper products and regiment for that skin type.
SELECTING INGREDIENTS
Knowing how to counteract skin problems by blending ingredients found in nature is the basis for this session.
Class Activity: Each student will be given the opportunity to participate in role play. The objective is to use the knowledge gained to determine the proper recipes, based upon the condition of the skin.SPA QUALITY FACIAL APPLICATION
In order to build confidence in your ability to deliver excellent customer service, you must practice the art of giving facials. This session is designated for professional development.
Class Activity: Each student will be given the opportunity to participate in role play. The techniques learned in Part 2 of this series will prepare you for this class exercise.
